You, Me and You Too.

Posted: November 24, 2010 in Health and You

So the other day I was surfing askmen.com when I came across an article about dressing your body type. I came across the word ectomorph. Not knowing what it meant I researched it because it described me somewhat, in terms of physique.

After my research I came across two other words, mesomorph and endomorph. I also realized at that point that ectomorph, mesomorph and endomorph are terms that come under somatotypes.

The terms were coined by William Sheldon (1898-1977), an American psychologist who spent his life observing all the variety of human bodies. His extensive career-based research and knowledge as seen him taught at several universities. As a child he was an avid observer of animals and birds, and as he grew up, this hobby turned into a strong ability to observe the human body.

The three terms are based on the three types of tissue layer: ectoderm, mesoderm and endoderm, which Williams theorizes are associated with personality characteristics and representing a correlation between physique and temperament.

This may all sound boring but look out I will fix it just for you.
